What Is Acne Blast

Targeted IPL treatment for acne-prone skin

Acne Blast is a light-based treatment designed to target multiple factors that contribute to acne-prone skin. Using IPL technology, the treatment reduces acne-causing bacteria, calms active inflammation, and helps regulate excess oil production — creating a healthier skin environment that supports clearer skin over time.

Beyond treating active breakouts, IPL can also help reduce post-acne redness and pigmentation, improving overall skin tone and clarity as a course of treatment progresses.

At Caldwell Cosmetics, we use the Lynton DYNAMIX® IPL System to deliver safe, consistent, and clinically effective results tailored to your skin.

What to Expect

Your Acne Blast treatment journey

Before treatment begins, you'll have a thorough consultation to assess your skin, acne history, lifestyle, current skincare routine, and any medications you are taking. This is essential to ensure the treatment is both safe and appropriate for your skin.

We will also discuss any contraindications — including the use of Roaccutane — and create a personalised treatment plan with realistic timelines and expected outcomes.

  1. 1

    Skin Preparation

The skin is thoroughly cleansed to remove all traces of makeup and skincare products before treatment begins.

  2. 2

    IPL Application

The IPL device emits targeted light wavelengths that penetrate the skin to destroy acne-causing bacteria and reduce inflammation. Protective eyewear is worn throughout.

  3. 3

    Skin Calming

Soothing, non-comedogenic products are applied post-treatment to calm the skin and support recovery.

  4. 4

    Aftercare Guidance

Personalised aftercare instructions are provided before you leave, including advice on products and anything to avoid in the days following treatment.

Results build progressively over the course of treatment. Many clients notice a reduction in active breakouts and skin redness within the first few sessions, with continued improvement in overall skin clarity as the course advances.

An initial course of 3–8 sessions, spaced 2–4 weeks apart, is recommended depending on the severity of the acne. Once the skin is responding well, sessions move to monthly maintenance to sustain the improvement.
