Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

What Is PRP Therapy

Harnessing your body's own regenerative power

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a natural regenerative treatment that uses the healing components found within your own blood to stimulate tissue repair and renewal. A small blood sample is taken, processed to concentrate the growth-factor-rich plasma, and then reintroduced precisely where rejuvenation is needed.

At Caldwell Cosmetics, we offer PRP in two distinct applications - facial skin rejuvenation (the Vampire Facial) and scalp hair restoration - each using the same clinically proven biological process to deliver targeted, natural results.

We use the Cellenis® PRP system, which employs advanced gel separation technology to produce high-quality, growth-factor-rich plasma to avoid red blood cell contamination - considered a gold-standard approach within aesthetic PRP therapy.

Two Applications, One Powerful Process

Choose the treatment pathway suited to your goals

PRP Hair Rejuvenation

PRP Hair Rejuvenation

~60–75 min

Stimulate dormant hair follicles, reduce shedding, and support regrowth in areas of thinning or early hair loss.

PRP Facial - The Vampire Facial

Natural skin rejuvenation from within

The PRP Facial uses your own platelet-rich plasma to stimulate collagen production, improve skin quality, and promote a firmer, more youthful complexion. As collagen naturally declines with age, PRP works with your body's own repair processes to restore radiance and skin vitality - without the use of synthetic fillers or foreign substances.

It is particularly effective for improving skin texture and elasticity, softening fine lines and wrinkles, refreshing the under-eye area, and restoring overall skin brightness. Results develop progressively as collagen production increases over the weeks following treatment.

Before treatment, your practitioner will assess your skin concerns, medical history, and suitability for PRP. We will discuss your goals, explain the process in full, and advise on any preparatory steps including supplement guidance.

  1. 1

    Blood Draw

A small sample of blood is taken from your arm - similar to a routine blood test.

  2. 2

    Centrifuge Processing

The sample is placed in the Cellenis® centrifuge, which separates and concentrates the platelet-rich plasma using advanced gel separation technology.

  3. 3

    PRP Injection

The concentrated PRP is carefully injected into the treatment areas of the face to stimulate collagen production and tissue renewal.

  4. 4

    Post-Treatment Care

Gentle products are applied to support recovery. Full aftercare guidance is provided before you leave the clinic.

Results develop progressively over 4–6 weeks as collagen production increases, with continued improvement for up to 6 months following a full course.

An initial course of 3 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart is recommended for optimal skin rejuvenation outcomes.

Before Your PRP Facial

  • Drink plenty of water for 48 hours before treatment to support a good blood draw.
  • Eat a light meal before your appointment - do not attend on an empty stomach.
  • Avoid retinoids and active acids for 5–7 days prior to treatment.
  • Avoid anti-inflammatory medication (e.g. ibuprofen) for 1 week before unless prescribed by your doctor.
  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior. Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin.
  • You will be advised on supplements at consultation to optimise your results.

After Your PRP Facial

  • Some redness, swelling, and mild bruising at injection sites is expected and will resolve within 3–5 days.
  • Avoid makeup for 24 hours post-treatment.
  • Keep skin clean and moisturised with gentle, fragrance-free products only.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure and apply SPF 50+ daily for at least 2 weeks following treatment.

PRP Hair Rejuvenation

Stimulate dormant follicles and support natural regrowth

PRP Hair Rejuvenation applies the same biological process to the scalp, delivering concentrated growth factors directly to the hair follicles. This stimulates dormant follicles back into an active growth phase, reduces hair shedding, and supports the growth of stronger, healthier hair over time.

It is particularly effective for androgenic alopecia (pattern hair thinning) and general diffuse thinning, and works best when begun in the earlier stages of hair loss before follicles become fully inactive.

A thorough consultation will assess your pattern and degree of hair loss, medical history, and suitability for PRP scalp therapy. We'll discuss realistic outcomes, your treatment plan, and supplement recommendations to support the process.

  1. 1

    Blood Draw & Processing

A small blood sample is taken and processed using the Cellenis® centrifuge to isolate the concentrated platelet-rich plasma.

  2. 2

    Scalp Preparation

The scalp is cleansed and prepared for treatment to ensure precise, comfortable delivery of the PRP.

  3. 3

    Scalp Injections

PRP is carefully injected across the areas of thinning to deliver growth factors directly to the hair follicles.

Initial improvements in hair shedding are typically noticed within 4-6 weeks. New hair growth and improved density develop progressively over 3-6 months.

An initial course of 3 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart is recommended, with maintenance sessions thereafter to sustain results.

Before Your PRP Hair Treatment

  • Eat a light meal beforehand - do not attend on an empty stomach.
  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior to treatment.
  • Your practitioner will advise on supplements prior to your appointment to optimise follicle response.

After Your PRP Hair Treatment

  • Some mild scalp tenderness, redness, or swelling is normal and will resolve within 1-3 days.
